More a giver than a taker be.

A friend for whom I have great respect tells me his grandfather had a wise bit of advice---“Live so that you leave the woodpile higher than you found it.” For all you city dwellers who are scratching your head over the meaning of that homespun advice, I can summarize, “Give back!”

Said another way, no matter your position, owner or staff member, take only what you and your family need from your practice, from your community, from your place of worship, from the organizations to which you belong. Do so while seeking ways to repay, to contribute, to give back, so that you, in fact, enrich your living and work environments, leaving each area in your sphere of influence better because you were there.
